How to Install on a level slab or deck We always enclose a wall section assembly diagram of your room. Use it to ensure sections are installed in the proper sequence. NOTE: Roof joints must always be cleaned with acetone and caulked. Be careful not to get acetone on the EPS core. Section 1 1. Layout base channel. Measure and cut to length. Cut out for door opening 36 1/4". Predrill - 18" on center. 2. When installing base channel, caulk both the bottom of the base channel, in the caulking groove, and the mitered corners. Once base channel is installed, caulk around inside bottom perimeter. Tall leg of base channel to inside of room.
3. Drill 1 1/2" x 2 1/8" receiver wall channel every 18" - place caulk on back of wall channel. Firmly attach wall channel to existing mounting surface - making sure wall channel is down inside base channel.
Section 2: Left Wall 1. On the ground, assemble left wall first, with exterior side up. Check direction and numerical sequence of wall sections. Bottom of all sections must be perfectly in line and fully mated. 2. Measure total width of pre-fabricated wall sections from inside female to inside female. (See Illus 2). Subtract this measurement from overall measurement taken at base channel. (See Illus 3). Divide this remaining measurement in half to obtain filler panel widths (See (B) illus. 1 on pg. 5) 3. Check for square condition between wall channel and floor. If out of square, cut filler panel to compensate as shown in (illus 1) (A) on previous page. 4. While on ground, attach cut filler panels to each end of the left wall assembly. To determine the pitch of the roof, measure height of wall channel from interior leg of the base channel, to top of wall channel and deduct 1/2". Transfer this measurement to the wall assembly that will fit next to the house. Measure desired height of the corner post. Transfer this measurement to the wall assembly at the outer end. Strike a chalk line between these two points (for structural integrity, you must have a minimum 3" of top fill), cut with circular saw to obtain roof pitch. Before you cut, remember this good rule: "Measure three times, cut once." Install sections of left wall beginning with tallest filler panel and then follow numerical sequence, ending with corner post. As wall sections are installed, secure with one screw half way up. If desired height will not allow the 3" minimum, cut needed amount from bottom of kickplate. Place the top channel on top of left wall DO NOT ATTACH AT THIS TIME. 5. Secure wall sections through base channel where they mate together. 6. Secure filler panels to wall sections and corner posts. 7. Repeat this procedure for right wall. Section 3: Front Wall 1. Layout and measure front wall assembly the same as side walls. 2. For filler, measure base channel between corner posts. Measure front wall assembly from inside female to inside female (illus 2) and subtract this measurement from overall measurement. Then divide by two for each side filler panel. Only cut left filler panel at this time. 3. Measure top fill at front of left wall and transfer to top of front wall section to determine front wall height. Strike chalk line and cut with circular saw. 4. Starting at left corner, install filler and front wall sections. 5. Measure from inside of female to inside of corner and cut right filler. 6. At right corner, hold the top of right wall open at an angle from the front wall sections, and place filler as far down as possible in front wall. Slide filler down into base channel - bring front wall back to plumb, closing corner. 7. Measure and cut top cap channel and place on top of wall. Do not secure top channel at this time. |
